What is now Copeland-Hammerl Funeral Home was built as a funeral home by Terry Copeland and was founded on June 1, 1991 as Copeland Funeral Home. The building underwent expansion in 1998 to better serve the needs of the local community. A bigger chapel with a cathedral ceiling was added and the front chapel was expanded to twice its original size.

In early 1992, Tim Copeland joined the staff to assist his parents with their ever growing business. Upon Terry’s death in 2001, Tim carried on the family tradition for the next 17 years.

On March 12, 2018, Paul Hammerl, owner/operator of what is currently Simpson-Hammerl Funeral Home in Kingston, NY purchased Copeland Funeral Home to better serve the community and provide the very finest funeral service in the New Paltz area. In September 2019 the business name was changed to Copeland-Hammerl Funeral Home.

In 2021 the facility underwent a complete and total renovation to create a lighter, brighter atmosphere with a level of elegance that is unparalleled.

We are proud and honored to serve you and your family, while continuing to operate as a family-owned business.
